Drum Roll Please....

I know this is what all of you inquiring minds want to know...what are we having??? Well, we are excited to announce that we are having a boy and a girl....yeppie! Each time we go for an ultrasound we are truly amazed and this time was no different. They are perfect healthy little babies and it is crazy to see how much they have grown since December 1. The little girl weighs 10 oz and the little boy weighs 11 oz and both are about 9 inches long. They are actually ahead of their growth schedule by a week. If either of these babies is like Kane or me then we are going to end up with little chubby babies...I sure hope so!

They have gotten so big now that they don't fit in the same frame on the ultrasound anymore. Oh, I have also started to feel them flutter around...it is the best feeling in the world. I will be 19 weeks on Saturday. I can't believe I am going to be 5 months soon...time sure is flying by! We are going to pick out paint colors for their room this week. Their furniture came in before we left for Guadalajara. Before we know it our little ones will be here!

Thank you all for being so supportive and celebrating this wonderful time with us!

Feliz Navidad and Jose Cuervo

Well, as many of you know we spent Christmas in Guadalajara...can you say Feliz Navidad! We definitely had some interesting moments and I decided to post some of my favorite pictures...hope you all get a good laugh and enjoy.

Welcome to Mexico...

This is a picture with us and Mexico's most famous Mariachi Singer...we'll it is really a cut out, which is what makes this so funny to me. Chris Kane is really getting into the dance moves.
We also had a slight causality on the trip...a dove figurine bit the dust and BK came back with a black eye. Don't worry this was a one man accident and we weren't mugged on the streets of Guadalajara.

We did a lot while we were in town...I mean we were there for 8 days, so I am pretty sure we saw all there was to do. We also ventured to Tequila and went to the Jose Cuervo Factory. Don't be alarmed the picture below is not of lunch ladies, but indeed of the Kane family.

Yes, they make you wear hair nets while touring the factory...it was hysterical! Of course Kane wanted to get a picture of the whole family in hair nets...I mean when will this ever happen again.

While we were at Jose Cuervo we also managed to by the babies their first onesies. I hope this doesn't predestine them to be addicted to margaritas! Since at the time we didn't know if we were having boys, girls or one of each we opted to buy yellow onesies (they didn't have two in the same shade of yellow..oh well). We were also on the look out for two tiny sombreros, but never managed to find them. However, Kane did feel that since the babies were on the tour they needed to "wear" a hair net as well...

Now, on to Christmas Eve...it was kind of like being in the movie "A Christmas Story" Fra ra ra ra ra raa, ra ra ra raaa. We had Christmas Eve dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse, but talk about confusing...our servers were Asian women in traditional Asian garb, but speaking Spanish very very quickly. It really was pretty funny. The food was good and the company was great. GiGi seemed to enjoy her birthday and that is the most important thing. Here is a pic of the whole Kane clan...

So, on a couple of the days we went to Tlaquepaque (about 15 minutes from Guadalajara), which is known for it's shopping. Kane found this cow chair and we all had to get our picture made in it...it was a must on his to do list. After all he was the master photographer for the entire trip, so how could we say no....

Now, what trip to Mexico would be complete without a tiny Chihuahua in a sweater?? This little guy was just wondering around the town square in Ajijic (about 45 north of Guadalajara) and in the back ground they were blasting the Chipmunks Christmas in Spanish...it was very bizarre.

As you can tell we had a very adventurous Christmas! We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas as well!

Shoe Tying and Other New Challenges

So, we finally managed to find time to take a side shot of me at 16 weeks. It is amazing to see how much I am changing from week to week. This week I have learned that tying my shoes isn't as easy as it used to be. Who knew that bending over and other simple tasks would start to become grand accomplishments! I am coming to grips with the fact that I am not as svelte as I used to be and that tying my shoes may take up to5 minutes since I now have to maneuver around my belly.

Kane of course has been very helpful...don't get me wrong there is plenty of teasing involved, but he is nonetheless very helpful.

90 years and Counting...

Well, we went to Clinton, MS for my Grandmother's 90th birthday and we had a great time seeing everyone. I was 15 weeks on Saturday, December 6th.
Unfortunately we didn't get an "offical" side picture of me, but I thought I would post this funny close up of my belly that Kane decided to take. He also decided to take a close up of my rear, but I am protesting and will not post that picture. No woman needs a close up of her behind...especially pregnant. He thinks it is hysterical and managed to forward the picture to other family members...wise guy.

Also, please note from the other posted picture that a pregnant woman is not afraid to steal cake icing from a todder. Caroline was having a blast eating her gigantic piece of cake!
